Galaxy Note: Leak hints at curved display and 7 name

Marketing material for Samsung's next big thing may have been revealed months ahead of release

There's not long to go until Samsung reveals its next flagship phablet and leaks are pouring in.
The latest report about the Galaxy Note, unearthed by Phone Arena, is a fresh piece of information backing up rumours that the device will get a curved AMOLED display similar to the one used on the Galaxy S7 Edge, as well as suggestions that Samsung will skip over the "6" moniker and go straight to "7".

The alleged teaser was sent to the website anonymously and as such, it is impossible to validate its authenticity. However, Pocket Lint says it is a "typically Samsung looking teaser".
The image shows a shadowy edge of a Note with a Galaxy S-Pen writing on it. The material reads: "Write on the edge of something great", strongly hinting that the phablet, which is set to arrive at some point in August, sports a curved display as seen on Samsung's previous Edge-labelled devices.
Rumours so far have indicated the Note will get a 5.8ins 2K AMOLED display.
There's also a much more subtle teaser in the image. The way the phone is positioned, combined with the lighting, roughly makes a number 7. It's been rumoured for some weeks now that Samsung will skip over calling its next phablet the Galaxy Note 6 to reinforce a consistent naming pattern across its range of flagship devices after introducing the Galaxy S7 earlier this year.
